Here is the blog that I kept of my experiences while studying abroad in Jerusalem, Israel. I went through the BYU Jerusalem program during Fall 2010. And it was an incredible 4 months! Being totally immersed in the culture and the geography, while studying the vast history of the Holy Land made my testimony grow in ways that I was never expecting. By intensively studying the Old and New Testaments, I was able to learn and understand so much more about the fulness of the Gospel we have in these latter-days.

Before my semester in Israel, I felt like the God in the Old Testament was so different compared to the Heavenly Father that I strive to speak with every day. It seemed like the Gospel in ancient times didn't match up with what I know about the Restored Gospel today. But how could that be? Truth is truth. Truth doesn't change over time.
But this is what I realized. The Gospel is true. And God truly is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He doesn't change. However WE do. His ultimate goal is to have us come back to live with Him; and that means all of us. Everyone from Adam and Eve until the end of the Earth as we know it. Our languages, cultural perceptions, and life experience all affect our level and type of understanding. [Just think about it, how different are we from the people during Abraham's time?!] It is because of His mercy that He communicates with His children differently, according to how they will best understand and learn.
